Getting started for Individual Clinics

An individual clinic is composed of a single practicing doctor who may or may not have a secretary assisting him/her in jeeping patient medical records. On-the-doctors who practice in several out-patient clinics in different health facilities like hospitals, are considered medical practitioners with multiple individual clinics.

1 | How does MYCURE work?

2 | Preparing the Right Devices

MYCURE is a flexible web-based EMR tool. It can work using any Android device, iOS device, or through any computer with Google Chrome installed. Now you may have at least one of these devices already, which is great because you don’t have to buy a new one.

Just make sure that they pass the minimum operating system requirements in order to use MYCURE smoothly and on its best performance.

Printers

We have 2 recommended printers which you can use for MYCURE:

(1) all-in-one printers that can print, scan, and copy. Some of these printers have Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct technology which allows you to print wirelessly using your mobile devices; and

(2) Economic POS Printers that can print prescriptions fast.

Accessories

These accessories may help you with your preferred setup. A bluetooth keyboard is useful when you use tablets or iPads so you can input your records much faster. If you’re transporting from one clinic to another, a flexible pocket wifi is handy as you can switch from one mobile internet service provider to another in case either of the networks is poor.

When you have a desktop computer but it has a problem connecting to the internet via LAN, a wireless USB adapter can do the trick. Simply attach and install this mini device so your desktop computer can connect to your wireless internet.

3 | Connecting to the Internet

If you’re serious about investing on a cloud-based EMR app, make sure that you have a decent internet connection! While this may be an additional monthly expense (if you don’t have one yet), you’ll realize that it’s going to be a necessity in this fast-paced, technology-run planet. Email, Facebook, Netflix — you’ll eventually have to get an internet subscription one of these days.

We’ve made a cheat sheet for our recommended internet service providers (ISPs) in PH:

Some considerations:

  1. Your clinic location. Make sure that the ISP you’re subscribing to gets good reception in your clinics. Some ISPs also have different pricing when your clinic is situated within a commercial establishment.
  2. Your expected usage. If you’re going to be strict not to use your internet with non-clinic related services (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, etc.), we’re confident that you won’t reach your monthly CAP. Otherwise, consider a plan that can accommodate your other internet needs.
  3. Your expected consumers. If you have 2 devices + your secretary’s + your reliever’s + you have a niece who’s busy watching k-pop videos on youtube after school, and they’re gonna be regular users, better ask your ISP which one’s ideal for your setup.

If you’re still not ready to get this investment at this time and you just want to start the free version, then your existing mobile internet data or wi-fi at home will be great for starters!
